from the last text...in Matthew 28:18-19, we're going to talk about how to perform the
task of being a witness and preaching the gospel. Paul
tells us in Romans 7:18,
"For I know that in me [that is, in my flesh] dwelleth no
good thing; for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find
not."
Paul gives us the remedy in verse 25.
It is only through obedience and submissiveness of our lives to
our lord and savior that we can perform that which is acceptable until him. Paul
again tells us we must press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in
Christ Jesus [Philippians 3:14].
The phrase "press toward the mark" gives us a great help
in discovering a part of the militant action we must acquire. The phrase means that
we must force our way through every hindrance which comes against our walk with God.
Beloved, it is an impossibility to perform this task of pleasing God and living the
God kind of life acceptable without total surrender until Jesus.
Receiving Jesus into our hearts is the first step; but living the
life is a task that cannot be accomplished in ourselves.
To rise above the ways of the world which oppose the gospel we
live and must preach whether it be demonstrated verbally or by our Godly character, we
must conform to Christ by what Paul tells us in Romans 12:1-2. Read and study this
out for yourself.
We must daily crucify the old man which seeks to rise up against
the new birthed inner man of the spirit of God. By allowing the Holy Spirit to take
complete control of our lives, and by living the Jesus way of life, we can perform. |
