The
Lords Prayer

|
| Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive
our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen. |

| The
Way of The Cross - Vol. 2 SERIES IV- 10/11/99 |
Picking up from our previous message, I want to begin with the passage in Galations 2:20. Paul makes the statement,
"I am crucified with Christ."
What Paul is saying here is that when Jesus became Savior of his life by the cross experience of Jesus, he became a new man. the old Saul which lived by the law died, and the new spiritual life Paul came alive. The old life died and because of the laws' demands which were met
through the death of Jesus, not only Paul could make this statement but every person who received Jesus into their lives can make the same statement if the way of the cross has priority in their lives.
Notice what Paul is saying, "I am crucified with Christ." This is a past tense action which has an ongoing present tense reality.
When we use Paul as an example and study his life through his teachings of the mystery of Christ we find that everything concerning the
nature, old man, carnal man, is given no place in his new experience with Christ. The new life in Christ became priority. The spirit man rules and the natural man becomes
subordinate to the Christ nature.
He says in Romans 6 that sin will not have dominion over us if we yield ourselves to Christ. For we are no longer under its law. If we yield our members as servants to righteousness through obedience to Christ, we can live the overcoming life the lord Jesus made possible for us to live. Romans Verse 5 tells us we have been buried with him [Jesus] by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For when Jesus died unto sin, he died once, but in that he livest he lived unto God.
When we recognize as Paul states in Chapter 7:18,
"for I know that in me that is in my flesh dwelleth no good thing."
And seek daily to keep under the nature through faith in our experience of the cross; it is God's grace and power through the holy spirit that helps us to live that overcoming life.
"How to perform that which is good" you will not find in yourself. But if you delight in the law of God which is spirit, you can be an overcomer.
Beloved, it is faith which is lacking in our lives when we find ourselves becoming
slack, or should I say complacent in living an overcoming life.

Conclusion |
The crucified life is a daily experience which must have priority. Jesus when you open your eyes, Jesus throughout the day, and Jesus when you retire at day's end. The inner man [new man]
must have priority or this crucified life we strive to live will not be performed. Faith demands action before it can
perform. and that action is brought about by our yielding to the leadership of the spirit.
The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41. Let your spirit man stay alive, and by yielding to the Holy spirit he will lead, guide, teach and instruct you as to how to perform the task. He will lead you to pray and that my friend will bring revelation understanding, wisdom and whatever else we need for our daily life of being crucified with Christ.
Would you begin if you haven't as of yet, to live by proving this out through a devotional time daily with your Heavenly Father? I know he will
impose you to do so.
God bless is my prayer.
In Service of Him,
